TBR & Tangents by Rachel

As you might gather from my trend of books, I love a good academy setting. This one included!! Academy and reapers are a fairly popular book combo but this still felt unique to me. The premise of becoming a reaper was interesting and I only wish they touched more on the logistics of it. There were parts of school that were discussed, but it felt that most detail we got was with the harnessing of magic. I’m hopeful as the story progresses so will the details.

The plot otherwise felt smooth to me. I liked the speed of progression and the twists we came across. I can’t believe I’m actually saying this but I enjoyed the cliffhanger 😂. It’s expected but not as maddening as almost all of them are.

The spice was so good!!! I loved the medium burn and the fact that there is an already established relationship. The dynamics are top tier and I loved how much heart the spice had, and wasn’t just mindless.
