Blood Claimed Review

This is the second book from L.A. McGinnis that I’ve read, and she continues to amaze me with her incredible world building skills and character chemistry.

Rejected mates isn’t normally in my wheelhouse but this one worked out!! I credit that to it being the perfect mix of vampires, rejected mate trope, along with hefty dose of magic/paranormal goodies. The world building was done masterfully; and paired with incredible storytelling this was an unforgettable book 1.

One of my top 5 tropes if of course the enemies to lovers trope, and I am so happy to report that it was done exceedingly well. I really liked that there was significant background on the characters and their relationships before this story takes place. I didn’t feel like I was missing anything and in fact it makes the plot that much more in depth.

These men… My goodness. I can’t even start to explain how much I love their chemistry all together. It’s just something with vampires that gives it that extra level of spice, something that LA excels at. They of course had to play the enemies card, but it does not last for very long!! Thank goodness for that. We get some really spicy and intimate scenes, less than I would have liked but each swoon-worthy in their own way. I am truly excited for the rest of the series, not only for the continuation of the plot but also have a chance to watch these relationships grow.
