We love a cult thriller, and this was an easy and straightforward read. Unfortunately, it wasn’t an overly unique and I found myself easily guessing the “what’s next”.
This is part of a series but can still be read as a standalone, which is always a bonus. The characters and their development fell somewhere between entirely flat and somewhat interesting. I found that the inner dialogue to be the most enlightening part of the book. It was also good to see unique bonds form between each of the characters. The cast was surprisingly large for a thriller book but was done mediocrely well. It wasn’t awful but nothing stood out as incredible either.
The plot is something that has been done before with different variations which gave me hope at first. I was hoping to come across something that made this stand out for the triller genre but nothing came to me. It was still entertaining but plain in my mind. I would absolutely pick up another book in the series however!
